Berth 2 Levelling

Extending and levelling an existing berth

Portsmouth International Port wished to bring larger and more frequent cruise ships into the City of Portsmouth. To achieve this Berth 2 was reduced in height and extended. Attis were appointed as Principal Designer for the project. During the project, Attis undertook a number of design reviews to ensure that the client’s wishes were captured in the statement of requirement and that as the design matured it was independently reviewed against that statement.

Each review identified the risks associated with the design, construction, operation, maintenance and the final disposal. These were reported and recommendations were provided to the client.

"The development of extra berthing capacity at Portsmouth International Port was vital in developing the city as a destination for cruise ship operators. Attis played a crucial role in developing this project and aiding the council to provide a first class additional to the city's infrastructure."
