Portsmouth Naval Base - Mooring Furniture Testing

Attis are delighted to be working with KBS Maritime at HM Naval Base Portsmouth on testing all of the mooring assets around the dockyard. Over 2,000 assets will be surveyed and tested to identify their condition and determine their operational capacity. This will provide shoreside personnel – who have the responsibility of berthing the Royal Navy’s ships – with accurate, up-to-date information critical to their work. This is especially important with regard to the Navy’s largest-ever vessels, HMS Queen Elizabeth and HMS Prince of Wales.

Attis, in association with Integrity Testing Pty, deploy a testing method that does away with all the operational factors, time delays and safety issues. Our method applies resonating frequencies to the asset. These are read by transducers and converted into a numerical image of the asset’s foundational strength. Expert analysis of the data allows accurate values to be determined which can then be determined as a single safe working load for the asset.

Finding innovative and pragmatic solutions to engineering and safety problems is what Attis excels at, assisting our clients to excel at what they do best.
