On Day 5, the last day of the Screwball Rally, our valiant drivers set off very early in the morning to complete the 900 kilometre journey home via Calais. Having been booked on the 1900 ferry to Dover, the team were keen to see if they could make it to an earlier one. This meant quick change pit stops along the way, and a diet of chocolate bars and take away coffee!

With just minutes to spare, they were waved on board the 1500 ferry into one of the last spaces on the ship, bringing a welcome sense of relief after their six hour dash through the industrial heartland of Germany and the bustling area around Antwerp.

Everyone arrived home safe and sound by 2030 that evening after driving 2000 mile overall during the last few days. It has been a tiring but incredibly enjoyable trip across Europe in the company of some wonderful other teams and marshals. And all in the name of raising money for very well-deserving causes. Well done to the Green By Design team!

The car and drivers are now resting, and possibly already plotting next year’s rally…
