Recognition of Principal Designer Competence

Demonstrating competence

We are delighted and extremely honoured to have been awarded the highest level of competence for the role of principal designer by the Institute of Construction Management (ICM). Level 6 on the ICM Principal Designer Register is only awarded to individuals and companies that can demonstrate their experience in providing this important regulatory role to large, specialist and complex high value projects. Attis are the first organization that has been awarded this highest level.

This recognition demonstrates to clients the level of expertise that we can bring to a project. Being a principal designer is not, of course, just about ensuring compliance with the CDM 2015 regulations. It is also about being providing incisive, independent advice primarily to the client but also to the principal contractor and design team, and our succinct and unbiased advice throughout the project promotes safety from the initial ideas stage right through to the validation and handover.

One of the things we are often asked about is what type of projects we can assist with, and essentially it is any project connected to industrial, infrastructure, maritime infrastructure or specialised historic or complex projects. The principles behind the management of safety in any project is the same no matter what the intended output, from software development to shipbuilding. It is about understanding and accurately documenting the client’s needs and effectively capturing and managing the risks throughout the project: whether that is risks connected with the design, construction, operation or maintenance of the end product.

Providing professional, insightful, end-to-end advice to our clients is at the heart of what Attis does. Advice without limits. Service without compromise.
